About the Founder
About the Founder
Alexis Sibondavyi, also known as Alex Teller, is a Burundian documentary filmmaker and field observer based in Bujumbura. Raised between countryside life and town life, he developed a deep sensitivity to landscape, identity, and lived experience. He is the founder of The Set and serves as a field observer at TheSetSpace.com, documenting Burundi with clarity, balance, and responsibility. Growing up feeling disconnected from the rest of the world shaped how he sees storytelling today. His mission is to help Burundians become visible without leaving behind the places they call home.
